The Current State of Traffic Enforcement

In recent years, some types of traffic enforcement have been significantly reduced or eliminated in some communities. We do not know the full effects of those changes, and we are still learning how agencies are adapting in response to them. Some communities are implementing alternatives to traditional traffic enforcement activities, and the field needs more information about which are emerging as the most effective.

At this meeting, we will discuss the current state of traffic enforcement, changes some communities have made, new and innovative strategies some agencies have implemented, and recommendations for law enforcement leaders.
