Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION

-             Bachelor’s Degree or above in Public Affairs, Public Relations or Criminal Justice

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

-             Minimum fifteen (15) years of progressive police leadership and command experience attaining a minimum rank of Lieutenant, or equivalent, including at least three (3) years of experience leading agency public relations, capitalizing the use of social media sources.

 EXPERIENCE:

-             Patient, flexible, yet results oriented

-             Work with large agency, or multiple agencies to achieve mutual goals

-             Authored news releases

-             Coordinated press conferences

-             News media interviews

-             Posting to Facebook and Twitter

-             Crisis Communications

-             Monitoring social media for public and media concerns

DESIRABLE COMMUNICATIONS EXPERIENCE:

-             Work in Counter-terrorism

-             Instructor or Trainer

-             Strategic communications planning & implementation

-             Community Engagement

-             Creating and Presenting Virtual Training

INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE:

• Any experience training or advising international police officials, related to public affairs, community relations, or police command topics is desired.
• In all cases, educational and senior management requirements may be substituted by additional years of law enforcement experience or overseas development experience.
