ICAT Frequently Asked QuestionsThe following are answers to some commonly asked questions about ICAT training at our Decatur, IL facility. How much does training cost? Training is tuition free for the remainder of 2024. Attendees are required to cover travel costs, such as food, transportation, and lodging. Are meals provided at the training? No. Attendees are responsible for their own meals. There are options near PERF’s National ICAT Training Center. How do I get to the facility? The facility is located at 3120 S Business Route 51, Decatur, IL 62521 If you are driving SOUTH on S. Business Route 51, the facility will be on your LEFT shortly after crossing W. Grove Rd. If you are driving NORTH on S. Business route 51, the facility will be on your RIGHT shortly after crossing Mt. Gilead Rd. The ICAT facility will be at the rear of the property. Below is a map of the vicinity of the training facility, as well as a photo of the entrance. Do I need to bring any equipment with me to Decatur? No. We provide all course materials as well as blue gear for the scenario-based component. What is the dress code? Training attire. There is no need for uniforms. Tactical style pants and polo shirts are perfect for the training. Can you help me out with travel recommendations to and from Decatur? You can find travel information, including transportation, lodging, and dining here. I have to leave class early. Do I still get course completion credit? You must stay for the entire 12-hour class to receive a certificate of completion. Class starts promptly at 8am and ends at 5pm on the first day, with an hour for lunch (on your own). The second day starts at 8am and ends at 1pm. Attendees should ensure they have ample travel time to catch their flights back home—if you cannot commit to the entire training, please reschedule for another class when you will be able to make this commitment. Once I complete the course, can I go back and train other members of my agency? Yes. You will receive a train-the-trainer completion certificate, allowing you to train members of your agency.
