PERF is seeking a Program Assistant who will help plan our Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) program and other professional development programs. Over the past 30 years, SMIP has become the premier program for senior law enforcement to develop and hone their leadership and management skills. PERF is looking to expand its training capacity and the Program Assistant will play an integral role in this effort.

 

Responsibilities 

Position responsibilities include assisting the Program Manager in planning and administering PERF’s Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP). Duties will include organizing and monitoring program logistics, maintaining project files and registration databases, and drafting reports and updates. The successful candidate will help the SMIP Program Manager and other PERF staff plan and facilitate the training on-site. Other tasks may include contributing to survey development and dissemination, fielding incoming information requests, processing expense vouchers, monitoring project budgets, and coordinating travel for training and events.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Ability to present ideas effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Dynamic team members who are able to work constructively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of and practitioner experience in policing is a plus
