POLICE CHIEF 

Middleton, MA (approx. 10,000 pop.), is seeking a progressive, proactive law enforcement professional committed to the concepts of 21^st Century Policing and with a proven record of leadership to serve as its next police chief.  Middleton is a fast growing, quintessential New England community located minutes from the MA shore and just 23 miles from Boston with its world class medical, educational, and cultural assets.  With a rural, farming heritage, Middleton is a bustling community with a “hometown feel” combination of residences, business, and agriculture. The Chief leads a department of 16 fulltime sworn officers, 11 Reserve officers and 2 clerks with an FY21 operating budget of just over $2 mil.  The Chief reports to the Board of Selectmen through the Town Administrator.  Successful candidate will have Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s preferred); 10 years of progressively responsible experience with at least 5 years of progressively responsible command experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
