Lisa Mantel

Lisa Mantel joined the Police Executive Research Forum as a Senior Research Associate in February 2017. As one of her first jobs in public safety, Lisa worked for nearly 6 years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher in rural Washington state, serving three local law enforcement agencies and eight fire departments/districts. Later attending law school, Lisa worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Paul W. Armstrong in the criminal division of the New Jersey state superior court, and as an associate attorney for a mid-sized firm in Washington, DC, practicing labor and employee benefits law. More recently, Lisa worked in program and project management—first at a consulting firm specializing in public safety communications initiatives with the federal government, and later at a technology company focusing on IT project management. Lisa earned a J.D. from the Gonzaga University School of Law, and a B.A. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland at College Park. When she’s not working, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family and running along the many trails in Maryland and DC. She enjoys rooting for her favorite college basketball teams—the Maryland Terps and the Gonzaga Bulldogs.
