PERF, in partnership with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department and the University of Georgia Police Department, is offering its next Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics (ICAT) "Train-the-Trainer" Session on January 14th at the Athens-Clarke County (GA) Police Department.
At this one-day training session, experienced ICAT trainers will lead an in-depth discussion and demonstration of how to implement the ICAT training program in your agency. There will be detailed discussions on the effective presentation of training content, ways to customize the video case studies and other materials to meet your agency's needs, and lessons learned on running and debriefing scenario-based training exercises. Students will participate in ICAT training scenarios as a part of the day-and-a-half session.
ICAT - Integrating Communications, Assessment, and Tactics - is a training program that provides first responding police officers with the tools, skills, and options they need to successfully and safely defuse a range of critical incidents. Developed by PERF with input from hundreds of police professionals from across the United States, ICAT is designed especially for situations involving persons who are unarmed or are armed with weapons other than firearms, and who may be experiencing a mental health or other crisis.
